Cornet Technology Takes Advantage of Virginia Foreign Mission

Cornet Technology takes advantage of Virginia Foreign Trade Mission to Expand into the Middle East

Springfield, VA – December 20, 2007To expand the international market for Cornet Technology, Inc. products, Edward Siira, VP of Engineering and T.S. Padma Nabhan, Managing Director for Cornet Technology (UK) Limited, recently took part in a trade mission to the Middle East sponsored by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The purpose the mission was to uncover export opportunities for Virginia-based companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Cities visited during the nine-day mission, included Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, and Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The mission provided Cornet Technology with an ideal means of finding partners and resellers for its video, voice, and data communication products in the economically growing region. The Virginia Economic Development Program (VEDP) did all the leg work, working with the local chambers of commerce, to match Cornet Technology and the other delegates with interested parties in each city visited. With Dubai’s goal of becoming the financial capital of the Middle East, Cornet Technology found opportunities for its A/B and Legacy over IP switches. The company’s video analytic products also created interest in the both countries where there is increased interest in security.

When asked what benefit was derived from the trade mission, Mr. Siira said “The VEDP did an excellent job. We came away with a number of leads, especially in the cities of Dubai and Dammam.”
