Springfield, Va. -- June 6, 2006 -- Anami Communications, the information technology and consulting division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), today announced the availability of the Scientific Image Manager. This software solution enables users within the life sciences and biomedical industries to display and manage multiple microscope image files in a convenient easy-to-use format. With the Scientific Image Manager, users can view numerous thumbnails and preview images of multiple file types, in a single window eliminating the need for multiple third-party image viewer programs. The software also lets users search and store images quickly and efficiently either by keyword or description.
The Scientific Image Manager can be used on Microsoft Windows, Macintosh or UNIX platforms. The software exhibits the following features and benefits:
• Unique ability to read multiple file types enables users to preview thumbnail images, rather than icons, for Zeiss, MDB, LSM, and TIFF files in Windows Explorer.
• Advanced editing feature gives users the ability to add detailed notes and descriptions to files and folders, allowing for more advanced file organization and comprehensive searching options.
• Powerful keyword and description search tools make it easy and convenient to search image files based on either full or truncated file names as well as keywords located in a file’s notes and description.
“The Scientific Image Manager is a valuable tool that is designed to increase productivity and streamline work processes within the biomedical and life sciences fields,” said Dr. Nat Subramanian, President, Anami Communications division, Cornet Technology, Inc. “At Cornet Technology, we tailor our solutions to our customer’s exact needs to bring their visions and ideas into reality. It was clear to us that scientists were in need of a solution that would allow them to search, view, and mark notations on microscope image files. The Scientific Image Manager accomplishes just that.”
