CTI Forms New Communications Division To Focus On Network Infrastructure Management and Test Access Solutions: March 14, 2005
Thomas Bennett named president of Cornet Technology Communications division
Springfield, Va. -- March 14, 2005 -- Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), a manufacturing and professional services company, announced the formation of a new division to focus exclusively on the company’s core competencies of network infrastructure management and test access solutions. The new Cornet Technology Communications division will continue to build on CTI’s 15-years of experience as a dominant manufacturer of physical layer switching solutions that optimize networks worldwide. The division will help military and civilian government agencies and corporate enterprises manage their networks more efficiently and economically by reducing the resources and space needed to maintain high-performance networks.
To lead the division, the company has named Thomas Bennett president and appointed Richard Martin to the position of director of operations. These two industry veterans have more than 55 years of communications and technology experience between them.
CTI’s chief executive officer, Nat Kumar, said, “As the world of communications continues to change, it has become necessary to restructure our company into several divisions, each of which has a strategic focus that relates to the company’s overall goals. The Cornet Technology Communications division was created to ensure that we continue to provide the quality infrastructure management services and support that we have become known for. I am glad to have knowledgeable industry veterans such as Thomas Bennett and Richard Martin in charge of our new communications division.”
As a result of the ongoing reorganization of the company, Cornet Technology, Inc. is now the corporate holding company for the entire organization, and there are three divisions to focus on the company’s related areas of specialization.
As president, Thomas Bennett will use his 30 years of technology and management experience to oversee everything from product design, development, and installation to ongoing support for the division’s high profile list of customers. Bennett joined CTI in 1993 and most recently held the position of vice president of manufacturing. Prior to CTI, Bennett owned and was president of Titan Industries and held various technical positions with Dynatech Data Systems. Bennett also served four years in the U.S. Army.
Bennett said, “CTI’s longstanding reputation as a manufacturer of quality switching solutions that fit our customers’ networking needs and our high-level of customer support will help us to remain a leading provider of network management solutions. I look forward to carrying on this tradition by continuing to provide quality solutions to our customers that enable them to use the latest technology innovations while preserving their legacy network investments.”
As director of operations for the Cornet Technology Communications division, Richard Martin will oversee all of the division’s manufacturing activities including plant safety, planning and scheduling, quality control, and shipping and distribution. Prior to joining CTI in 2003 as the test department manager, Martin held various manufacturing, quality, test and operations management positions within the electronics industry. Martin holds an associate’s degree in electronics technology from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics, has certifications in J-STD-001 and IPC-610, and served in the United States Navy.
